MAD is Momentum’s structured athlete development program designed for athletes aged 12–20 who want to improve strength, speed, power and resilience for sport.

Every athlete begins with a Free Athlete Development Consultation, where our coaches evaluate movement, training load and athletic development needs before designing a personalised training plan.

Athlete Development Consultation.

Initial Athlete Development Consultation (Free)

The MAD journey begins with a complimentary athlete development consultation with one of our expert coaches.

During this session we gather information about the athlete’s:

  • goals

  • chosen sport/s

  • training age(an athletes age in years with relation to S&C experience)

  • current competition and/or training workload/ schedule,

  • injury concerns

To determine the plan for the most effective development pathway for that athlete.

Athlete Assessment.

Following the Consultation each athlete completes a Sport Specific Athlete Performance Assessment & Movement Screen.

This allows our coaches to understand how the athlete moves, trains and recovers.

The assessment includes:

  • Movement Screen

  • Strength & Athletic Qualities Review

  • Training & Load Discussion

  • Recovery & Lifestyle Review

From this we create a Personalised Athlete Development Plan designed to support performance across the entire sporting season.

Personalised Athlete Development

Following the athlete assessment, our coaches design a personalised development plan tailored to the athlete’s sport, training load and stage of development.

All our coaches are qualified strength and conditioning coaches and sports scientists who will tailor the plan for each athlete to build strength, speed, resilience and confidence for their sport.

Train in Small, Coach Led Teams.

Athletes train in small coached teams while following their own individualised development plan, designed to support their sport, training demands and stage of development.

This approach combines the benefits of personalised athlete development with the energy of a supportive team training environment. Training alongside other motivated young athletes creates a strong sense of camaraderie, shared experience and accountability, helping athletes stay engaged and motivated.

Our qualified strength and conditioning coaches oversee every session, guiding technique, adjusting training loads and ensuring each athlete progresses safely and effectively.

Athlete Performance Progression.

Athletes develop strength, speed, resilience and confidence as they progress through their personalised training program. Each athlete’s development is guided by their Annual Athlete Development Plan, ensuring training evolves alongside their sport demands and stage of development.

Progress is tracked through the Momentum training app, allowing athletes and coaches to monitor performance, track improvements and stay accountable to their program.

Our coaches regularly review each athlete’s progress, checking in to ensure training loads, technique and development priorities remain aligned with their goals. Programs are updated and progressed over time so athletes continue to build the physical qualities needed to perform confidently in their sport.

Momentum athletes are coached by experienced professionals including: • ASCA Qualified Strength & Conditioning Coaches • Sports Scientists • Athlete Development Coaches. Our team specialises in supporting developing athletes through structured strength and conditioning programs.

The MAD Program is also supported by our in-house Physio for injury prehab and rehab support.
